About
Welcome to the Sustainable Hanover, NH Blog!
This blog is a prototype forum for the Hanover, NH community. We hope that citizens and others will use this space to discuss issues associated with the Sustainable Hanover Initiative (http://www.sustainablehanovernh.org). The blog is organized around categories – the categories are based on the working groups developed during the Sustainable Hanover Community Workshop in February 2009.
If you have additional questions about our work, please contact the Sustainable Hanover Committee Co-Chair. lynswettmiller@sustainablehanover.org
If you have specific questions about your curbside recycling in town, please contact the Hanover Department of Public Works: dpw@hanovernh.org
I am a resident of Hanover. I put my items in the container and put the container at the street for pick-up. This happens every other week.
My question is;
What is the process that my items go through?
Where do they go?
Who handles them?
Ultimately what is the footprint of those recyclables?
What is it at a local level? State level and international level?
What is the volume of material being shipped overseas from the Northeast?
How do the larger cities recycling impact the small regions like Hanover?
I am seeking education to the greater process of what I belief to be an important global situation!
Thank you for the work you are doing and addressing my questions.
